I've just removed the Cylinder Covers on my Evinrude 90HP 1991 and the gaskets are ruined.
New gaskets are unavailable and none are available in country, so i have had to order some from the USA.
In the meantime is it possible to make temporary gaskets from Gasket Material?
Are there any holes in the gasket besides the bolt / temp sensor / sparkplug holes?
Does water pass from the cylinder to inside the cylinder cover? Mine did, and the salt water expanded and blew the gasket inwards into the cylinder, therefore restricting the water flow.
