Cost to replace manifolds and risers on '86 Crusader 305?

I've had this boat for a couple years and for all I know the manifolds and risers are original equipment. I figure it's best to err on the side of caution and replace all exhaust components between the block and the flapper (manifolds, risers, elbows etc).

I've been putting this project off because of cost but I'm thinking it's time to bite the bullet and get this done before catastrophe strikes. Parts are adding up to $1,900 per engine, probably $2k by the time I buy gaskets and hardware. Ouch. Does that sound right?

Just looking for a bit of reassurance.

I just did both my 270's and I ordered everything before taking them apart. I had exactly the same issue as you , wanted everything there first and kept putting off the job. I used Barr parts and they seemed fine. I ended up sending the manifolds back as they were really not needed and they were slightly different and would require several more fittings and hoses. I wish now that I had taken both engines apart first and could have avoided the cost of freight to send them back. The best "tip" I got when removing the elbows was to cut the small section of exhaust hose off and replace with new. Saved a bunch of time and effort for sure.
