I have an 88 200/HP Mercury outboard. I have replaced the oil cap and made sure the upper reservoir is full, the oil injection sensor has 13vdc going in and 3vdc pulsing to the alarm box when running. I pulled the oil injection line off the pump, a drop of oil cones out every second or less while running. I also pulled the oil line off to the upper reservoir and it seems to be pushing enough oil up to keep the upper reservoir full. Not sure what else to check. Possibly a bad oil injection pump or magnet in the injection pump coupled? The magnet seems like it is still good. Maybe a bad alarm box? It seems to be an intermittent problem. I was also told it could be erratic spark on #4 cylinder will cause the alarm. I just put new spark plugs in it. Pulled them and they look good. Has anyone else had this issue? Also it seems there is plenty of water coming out. The water is a little warm bit not hot. The alarm seems to happen after I am out on the water fir a bit. I never seem to have a loss of power.

Random guess, Is your low oil sensor in your oil reserve tank getting stuck open?
That was the problem with my 40 hp outboard, I just ended up disconnecting it (disconnected the 2 blue wires coming out of the oil reserve)

It is a brand new cap and float. It seems to work flawlessly. Doesn’t mean it is not the issue. I may pull new wires to the Alarm horn and get a new alarm horn to insure I do not have a short. I may also replace the temperature sensor to full it out.
