"To start I am a novice whow wants to learn so pardon my inexperience, but generally a quick learn. I replaced my 5.7 L Chevy motor last year (after a poor winterization and cracked block, literally oil/water coming out of the carb) with a rebuilt Chevy 5.7 L. Everything went together great, now just down to fine tunning. Have had it out and runs ok, but idles high (around 1000 rpm) and when I put down the hammer, it seams like the engine is starving for fuel. I had put on an electric fuel pump (a generic cheap something I had) when I replaced the motor, but my suspicions are it probably is not large enough. Also trying to get the idle down around 800 rpm (at least that's what I have been told). Maybe timing is also off. Reused the carb from previous motor (rebuild carb?) Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks"
