Burned up Motorguide Pro 60 motor

Hey everyone, I screwed up. I had my boat covered and the cover tented but the neighborhood cats knocked the bucket over. We got our first and probably only snow of the year today, and when we went out to play around we smelled melted plastic smell. Discovered I had left the trolling motor switch on, and the snow had pushed down the foot trigger to turn the motor. As you might imagine the blades couldn't turn and the motor got really hot and smells like everything inside is probably melted. After cooling it down of course the motor no longer turns, no surprise there.

My question is, do I just junk this old 24v setup or is there anyway to salvage/replace the motor? This is the first boat with a trolling motor I have owned. I know electrical motors can be rebuilt, but I would like to get it operational for the lowest cost possible. If it isn't worth fixing, let me know and I'll just go shopping for a new/newer one.

Thanks everyone.

Welp, found a guy selling a slightly newer model of the exact trolling motor for $50. Bought it, bought new plug and receptacle as they got roasted. $70 later I have a working trolling motor ready to go when it warms up!
