"I have a 94 Mercury Force 90h

"I have a 94 Mercury Force 90hp engine and the bottom carburetor has hole and there is a line with a fitting coming from somewhere that appears to go under the bottom carb. It will not screw or snap in the hole (but it will sit in there if I put it in the hole, but it is very loose and I have not taken it apart to look at it yet) and the engine runs fine with it out or sitting in the hole. I do have a small puddle of fuel/oil (not sure how long it has been there as this is the first time I have cranked the boat in a couple of years) but it is not leaking when the engine is running (or after I shut it off) or have any type of vacuum pressure to it. Any idea what the bottom line could be? Thanks.

"Jimmy, those are "bleed h

"Jimmy, those are "bleed hoses". They carry excess gas/oil away from the bottom of the crankcase usually up to the top of the crankshaft.

The one near the bottom of the carb (and it doesn't actually hook to the carb, it's just located there is to bleed any excess at the reed valves.

So it is "normal" that a bit of gas/oil mix will be found there in the lower pan below the carb..."
