2017 200hp 4-Stroke. Have a bent tilt rod no idea how this happened. Engine under warranty, Mercury says I hit something, there’s no damage to prop or lower unit. Boats always on lift, never trailered. Took a short run down to inlet & back, engine always trimmed down on lift, all deep water. Trimmed up on return at dock, would not trim all the way up, it did trim up on previous runs, saw that rod was bent. This would have to take a lot of force to bend this rod & would have done serious damage to prop & lower unit. I’m 75 yrs young been boating in Florida all my life, anyone have any thoughts on this? My Merc dealer here in Ponce Inlet said they have never seen this before without any lower unit damage.
