will a 67 mercury 110hp charge

will a 67 mercury 110hp charge battery without having a tach hooked up. If so how does the power from stator get to battery. Wiring harness only has the main red wire to battery. all other wires go to throttle control.

If you check the starter solen

If you check the starter solenoid the large terminal on which the positive battery cable is attached probably has another smaller wire on it. Thats the charging wire. No need to run a separate one to the battery since the battery cable carries that voltage.
