Antifreeze in crankcase

"Work is complete. Replaced both cylinder heads with new and engine runs great again. Total charges for everything were slightly under $4,000 including parts and labor. Replaced a couple of hoses, thermostat, spark plugs etc.

Now we wait for the other engine to do the same!!

Thanks for all the input on this subject.

Happy boating."

"And now the rest of the story

"And now the rest of the story:

Engine ran great for about 25 hours. Suddenly cruising along at 2200 RPM, began making a horrible metal to metal noise. Shut it down immediately. Inspection revealed at least two bent push rods. Maybe others.

Heads came from Maryville Marine less rocker arms springs etc. I am now told the new heads may have had "oval" holes for the push rods and the old rods are probably round. Never heard of such a thing. At any rate dealer is going to install 16 new push rods and put her back together. I'm hoping this will solve the problem.

My gut feeling is there may be more of a problem but I guess we take it one step at a time. I thought about engine timing chain etc. However, even with the noise it started quickly and ran smooth. We shall see.
