I have a 7.5 Honda long shaft

I have a 7.5 Honda long shaft I can get the motor to run great. When I put the cover on it starves for air and quits. any in put would help.

are you running on a boat or in a barrel with no fan to blow exhaust away???

"The exhaust pipe is corroded/cracked. This pipe is located directly underneath the cylinder head and goes straight down. It's dark down there but if you get a flashlight you can see the pipe pretty well. This is definitely your problem. You have to remove the powerhead to replace it, or if the motor isn't worth much, a lot of folks drill a ~1" hole in the side of the cowling near the carb intake so the engine can get oxygen."
 
Does anyone know about how muc

Does anyone know about how much it would cost to have the exhaust pipe changed out? Or about how dificult it would be to change it out my self??
