"Hi Im new here. Thanx to all in advance that can help.

I have 1999 df 50 4 stroke suzuki that at first giving me problems in the check engine department so I quickly purchased the manual and read the flashing code from the gauge. It led me to the IAC valve which I believe has to with the air intake and wat not, so I replaced that.

When I go to start it cold it wont idle high to warm itself up then eventually reving down when warm I hav to actually hav to idle up to warm it up for a few minutes than it will stay on no problems except for when sitting there idling normal it will make a popping noise as if the plugs were dirty or something. Also after I run it for a while out on the water at full throttle it will run fine than out of the blue it will kind want to stall so I throttle down a bit then I can feel it smoothin out again.

thanx again"

Read in another forum about the duty cycle for the IAC valve can someone explain that please. Cause replaced mine thinking that was the problem according to the flashing code from the gauge. Did not read anything in the manual about the duty cycle unless I missed it.

thanx

"The 'duty cycle' of t

"The 'duty cycle' of the IAC valve states how much air is let in during idling, similar to a mix screw. The only odd thing is that the engine has an air mix screw hidden behind a rubber plug. This screw has to be adjusted so the IAC valve pulses around '25' and the only way to adjust it is to hook the engine to a computer and read out the IAC valve operationsyclus. The computer will try to maintain a idling rpm, but if the IAC is wrongly set the engine will run either rich or lean."
