Hi
I had to replace the exhaust tube on my motor with a good used one as where the water tube mounts to it, it was completely corroded away.
This means I don't have a reference to the shape of the casting in that particular area.
The rest of the exhaust tube side-by-side is absolutely identical.
I came to fit the water tube and notice it sits skew, then I can see that the casting area where it mounts is at a slight angle causing the water tube to sit at an angle. This is quite bizarre, but I had another spare exhaust tube from a 75HP and it has the same skewed area on the casting, so its not a defect, it deliberate.
Can anyone explain what on earth the reason for this is? Why is it not flat? Do I have the wrong part, as when I try drop this unit down into the mid section housing i'd need to force the water tube straight to fit through the grommet...?
Hoping someone can shed some light on this, as I am reluctant to refit this without some reassurance there's not a wrong part or assembly quirk I'm unaware of?
