86 Bayliner Motor Help

Hi all I have a 21 Foot Bayliner with a Volvo Motor.The serial number on the motor is 7897004179 its a 4 cylinder does anyone know which one this is and if not any site I can decode it.Thanks for your help

Here is a Volvo Penta data base.
I just entered your engine number, it showed no results. Perhaps a number is missing.

Hi no its suppose to have 10 letters and or numbers and thats the whole number right off the motor it may not list anything that far back

This may be more simple that what you are making it out to be. Just what is it that you are needing?
There is a tremendous amount of interchangeability among these...... especially with these OHC 4's and the out drives.

OK,is it a single overhead cam engine or dual,next does it have a oil cooler below the exhaust manifold,and last is it single or dual carb??
