85 HP Force 1985 (856F5A)

Finally got a chance to swap packs. When swapped, it won't even try to start. Put it back to original and it starts right up even though I only have spark on cylinder 2. I don't get it, I wouldn't think it would start let alone sound good...
Not sure what to try next. Nobody I know has a DVA adapter.
Just about ready to give up and take it somewhere but I know the cost would be more than I can afford.

Decided to bite the bullet and buy a DVA adapter. I figure i have this 85hp and i have a 40hp force on my pontoon boat. I'm sure there will come another time when I will need it. Can' do the job without the proper tools.

Don't ask me how, but it seems to run smooth. I ordered the DVA adapter from Amazon. It won't get here until after the 4th of July.

Does it make more sense to start at the top and work down when testing ( stator, trigger, pack, coil) or the other way around? I'm probably overthinking the whole thing. I keep reading the manual over and over thinking I must be missing something. At least I'll be ready when it gets here.
