85 115 No spark

I just got an 85 115 from a guy who said he had no spark.... and he was right. No spark on any cyls. I was hoping it would be an easy fix but troubleshooting isnt as easy as I had hoped. I started by disconnecting the main connector, then jumped the solenoid to check for spark. Still no spark. I checked the stator using the Ohm's test and it tested good. I dont have a manual to know which pins to check for the timing coil Ohm's test, but from what it appears, something is a bit flakey here. Resistance is not what I expected, but then again, maybe things are different on this motor. From what I have read it is rare that a bad timing coil would cause a no spark symptom on all 4 cyls. When I bought this motor I was thinking power pack........BUT this motor has 2 packs and I doubt both went bad. Can anyone point me in a direction from here? Any info on an Ohm's test for this particualr motor would help a lot.

If the starter motor is bad( very common ), then the motor does not turn over fast enough and you have " no spark "--------------Pull the starter apart and check ohms from commutator to the shaft.-Report the findings if you like.

I now have a manual and it sure does help. I went step by step performing the tests that I could with just a multi meter. Turns out the timer base was bad. The resistance was almost double what the book said it should be. I picked up a blown motor of the same year/hp and now I am gonna test that one and see if it reads the same. If it tests good, I will install it and go from there.
