73 25 head gasket install ?

when installing new head gasket my intertec manual states to use sealer 1000 on all gasket surfaces does this include head gasket ? my local boat repair says not to. All of the input ive gotten form the forms has been right on so Im asking do or dont apply a sealer to the head gasket thanks for all the help .

If the head gasket says "use no sealer" on it you don't. If that's not on there you can us OMC Gasket Sealing Compound.

Only if it says "use no sealer" There are some out there that don't say that.

ok thanks for all you help with this engine. I hope this takes care of it next time I buy used Ill look it over better

yes pulled those gaskets and cyl and pistons look it has just been re-ringed . had a blown head gasket center bolts were loose, re surfaced head w/220 paper w/glass table for surface plate. confused torque specs in the manual i have one section says to torque to 96-120 18,22,25 hp evin/johnson the following section covers 22,25,28 evin/johnson for the head gasket neither show my model year 25302a. inlet and exhaust show the same @24-36. never mind on specs found a online manual with correct specs . 96-120 time to get a model year specific manual
