hi all. i have the ele shift lower unit. it takes the type c oil. went to marena and they had none .the guy said i could run 80 90 weight and said it would be ok. i have been running it and it seems fine. what is the verdict. and what is the difference of the c vs 80 90.am i doin a big no no.
 
It calls for type C or now called " premium blend " by BRP.--------------------TYPE C is a thinner oil and it flows better thru the filter screen for one thing.---------------The thinner oil allows the spring to move the shift piston a little faster to go into forward.---------------------------Very important or maybe I just confused you.
 
Type C, also known as Premium Blend, is a must in that electric shift lower unit.... the guy told you wrong. Look for it in various marine stores, Wal*Mart, on line at Sierra Marine, etc..... possibly at this website.
