454XL difficult to start....hmmmm

For those with the SPDT pressure switch (controlling the electric fuel pump), you can easily add a momentary "primer button" switch (SPST-NO type) to eliminate the hard to start syndrome (when caused by fuel evaporation/drain back).

I am beyond embarrassed by what I'm about to reveal BUT because this forum was so extremely helpful I vowed to myself that upon resolution of this problem I would follow through with a post.

I bought the boat this winter from some folks who literally used it so lightly that even the packing material was not out of the fridge. This Blackfin has been in as close to a time capsule as possible but because of this the owners knew very little about the boat. They were even less helpful with questions I had.

Anyways from day 1 I have had 2 red buttons next to the ignition keys switches. I had assumed, like an IDIOT, they were kill switches. Well I accidently hit one while running the other day and it did not kill the motor. I'm an IDIOT...lol..

Laying in bed and thought hey I wonder IF BY CHANCE those are primer switches???

YES. I have 2 wonderful, beautiful, awesome primer switches right beside my keys that will prime my carbs for cold starts.

Much like Makomark said.. this is incredibly helpful and again I thank the forum for your patience and help.

I'm shaking my head I'm so dam mad at myself for not realizing this... KILL SWITCHES??? What was I thinking???
