Hi
I have a late 80's Mariner single cylinder 40hp 2 Stroke which I purchased with a small fishing boat this year.
The throttle has always seemed stiff and recently I have had an issue where the control lever will not engage neutral or reverse. I asked advice in the YBW forum and was directed here - I have re greased all the linkages and the Control Box. This seemed to improve however, after engaging full throttle and then trying to engage neutral and/or reverse the issue seems to have reappeared!
If I disconnect the cables the throttle and gear lever seems smooth as does the gear shift on the ob?
There is also an issue when I throttle to 3/4 the engine seems to bog down until I increase to full throttle?
Any ideas, help or advice is greatly appreciated
Cheers
