350 omc cobra died while in motion

New here but not to engines need help with this one
Boat sat for 2 years but I’ve owned it for 15 years
Today I was idling around the lake after a short speed run. While checking out the lake the motor bogged down and shuttered then dies. Couldn’t get it to crank over it just clicked but wouldn’t turn over. After a while of setting it would turn over and start but then die right away and shutter after doing that a few times I killed the battery.
Towed it in and trailered it home charged the battery and it would start but once again shutter bog and die.
Sounds like a lot of stuff clunking and banging when it dies

The banging and clunking does not sound good. Maybe check compression? I assume you have points & coil Ignition? I would look into that, check coil first, Could be fuel issue with a plugged filter or bad pump. Basic troubleshooting, as you need to eliminate possible causes one at a time
