2017 Pro XS 115 Trim/Tilt

The trim/tilt system is intermittently raising up the engine by itself about every second or two. The switches seem to work - can tilt up and down with the switches but it keeps tilting up by itself. Had to disconnect the battery connections to the engine to stop the tilt system. This was happening with every thing shut off and the key out of the control. Could this be a bad solenoid?

Not knowing your situation I would say that the contacts within the tilt-trim relays are pitted due to old age and are sticking when they should be releasing. I would start with a couple of new relays and go from there.
