2004 Yamaha 90hp 4 Stroke cooling issue

Hi all! I’m new to the boating world but I’m handy. I have a 2004 Yamaha F90 4 Stroke. Issue is no water coming out of the telltale. I have changed the impeller and all gaskets. Flushed out all the lines with first, weedwacker line, then with some air. Air is getting from telltale to impeller. But when I start the engine, no water at telltale and overheat alarm goes off after about two minutes running. I’m lost at what else it could be. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Ok before taking the lower unit off and re-checking the impeller, on the left side of your motor you should have a flush fitting that you can screw a garden hose into... Hook a hose up to that fitting that has standard household water pressure. Turn the water on, after 20-30 seconds you should get water coming out of the pee hole.

Does this happen?

Also how are you running the engine? with a water hose and muffs?
