2003 johnson 90 hp trim

my 2003 90 hp johnson has run

my 2003 90 hp johnson has run perfectly for 5 yrs but it has developed a trim problem when i trim it up after use i will lower about 6 inch to a foot . is this a adjust / new or rebuild situation.

"George.... I assume that you're saying that after triming to the full up position, the engine will drop down a foot, then stop and stay at that position.

If so, raise the engine to it full height and lock it there. Fill the reservoir to overflowing. Insert the reservoir plug/screw. Operate the PTT up and down a few times, then refill the reservoir to overflowing again.

Hopefully that cures the problem. Let us know.

joe your assumtion is correct .the unit now will drop down completely overnight hopefully the same procedure will be the fix
