200 5.0 L Engine surges or dies while underway

Have a 2002- 5.0 EFI that would start fine but while underway ,like about 2,300.Rpm would surge or sound like is wide open throttle,but is not going any where,one of the fuel pump was replaced,any help would be appreciated.Thanks regards.

See your year/model specific Volvo Penta OEM service manual (not Seloc/not Clymers) for trouble shooting fuel related issues. This will give you a place to begin.
This may be ignition related as well. See this section also.

If you use a Seloc or Clymers, use it as a supliment to the OEM.
