Add stablizer to the gas and run the motor for 10-15 minutes to make sure it gets through the system
Remove the spark plugs and give each cylinder a shot of fogging oil (even WD40 will do in a pinch) to keep the rust and other cooties out.
Spray down the powerhead with fogging oil or WD40 as well - helps keep the rust off the powerhead and the moisture out of the ignition system.
If you are leaving it on the boat or in an unheated space - store the motor upright (normal position) that ensures any water will drain and prevent a freeze crack.
Some other things you may want to consider:
If the impeller is due for a change, change it now
Change the lower gear oil
Change the spark plugs
If you do the above the motor is ready to go the minute you want it in the spring, so you are on the water while others are fumbling trying to get things ready...."
