I just replaced the voltage regulator and I still have an overcharge problem. Anybody had this problem. it is charging over 18 volts

"If its really reading 18v and not a gauge error, must be either a bad regulator or wired incorrectly."

"If you have 18 volts directly on the battery poles you have a broken circuit inside battery.
Check fluid in battery or discard.
If you have 18 volts elsewhere. I think you have too high resistance in your wiring. Clean all wiring connections between battery and motor.
(With 18V, there would be a very high charge current if the wiring and battery is in good condition. I dont think the stator is able to give that high current.=> I bet on bad wiring or bad battery).
