1994 30hp Evinrude throttle problem.

On my tiller when I twist my throttle wide open and look in carburetor the butterfly is open only about a quarter of the way. Now this is when the engine is not running, does that change when engine is running? Is there an adjustment to correct this issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dano.

Shift it in to forward and see if it still does the same thing !

Thanks for Idea, I bought boat and motor in November and haven't even started yet. Live in Minnesota and waiting for weather to warm up. will check this out after a little bit here. Thaks.

If this is your first boat / motor your best bet is to invest in a manual.-----------Hopefully it will prevent you from making expensive mistakes.

Thanks, I just tried your idea and it worked. I've had other outboards over the years but never an Evinrude. I'm in the process of installing electric start, it's going good so far and almost done. May have more questions.
