1988 454 350 Crusaders NEW PURCHASE??

I just purchased a 1988 Tiara convertible. The boat was mint except the engines needed some attention. Just need basic service and maintenance. i replaced one of the water pumps belts, all fuel filters, zincs and oil changes and filters. Next i want to flush out the coolant and put new antifreeze with a 50/50 mixture in. The heat exchangers seem to be original. Do you recommend taking then of and brought to a radiator shop to be clean or doing the Mauriac acid myself? I could also flush them in place. I'm also having a hard time getting the thermostat housing off. Any recommendations? The coolant is in there about 5 years so she is due.

Take them to the radiator shop...easier in the long run...

The t-stat housing will usually come free with a small dead blow hammer...just make sure you have the proper gaskets when you replace it...
