Hoping you can help me out here. I’m at my wits end. My father owned this boat and motor for about 10 years. Motor never has given me any troubles. It runs and idles great.
However recently when at a slow speed in gear (forward) I get a constant buzzing from the control area. This buzzing continues with the key in the run position but engine not running. This leads me to believe the engine is overheating.
I’ve replaced the water pump, thermostat, temperature sensor. I hooked a hose up to the water intake in lower unit and tried to flush The system. Strong stream of water from the tell tale.
The alarm goes off when motor is ran at full throttle.
Compression test is 135psi both cylinders. Also worth noting the VRO has been disconnected since I’ve owned it. I run pre mix at 50:1.
