I have a 1987 Johnson 9.9 J10RCUE that will not run. Great compression and good blue spark. Seems to be a fuel problem. Fuel pump is working. I tried to blow through the fuel line that connects to the carb and it is stopped up. I assume you should be able to blow through this hose. Where do I go from here? What is the procedure for removimg the carb from the power head?
Thanks for any and all help.

"You should be able to blow th

"You should be able to blow through the fuel line and pump in the normal direction of flow.

If you crank with the hose disconnected from the carb you should get spurts of fuel if the pump and all from the tank is Ok. You should also be able to pump fuel right through using the bulb ( but youve checked all that is Ok anyway)

Will it fire and run briefly if you spray fuel mix into the intake?

For all you need to know about 9.9 (and 15) hp models follow the link on THIS PAGE"

"If the carby is full of fuel you wont be able to blow through the hose, but it does seem that the carby is the issue and needs cleaning, i would rebuild with a carby kit"
