1984 Edson Voyageur 15.5 foot trihull. Steering

New member
Hello fellow boaters, I am in need of help to replace a steering cable on my boat. We managed to wrestle the old cable out today by disconnecting helm and stretching it out. We got the big u shape out of the cale under gunnel by pulling it straight forward. When we did this it moved the front helm to the left by 12.5 inches. This allowed the motor to turn freely and the steering cable was nice and straight. Found a number on the cable T14 09. Was wondering if a 13 foot cable would be better. Thank you.

Ayuh,..... The websites that sell helms, 'n cables all have a write-up on how to measure for new cables,....

It does sound like you need a shorter one though,.....
