hello, I trying to make my power trim on my 79 1150 merc. I'm currently waiting on a delivery of parts from this website of hoses to make everything work, but I noticed a black switch box on the port side of the transom bracket and did a little research of my own, but unfortunately I'm unable to determine the purpose of the switch and whether or not I'll have to replace it to make the power trim work as it should. Mercury parts catalogue calls it "SWITCH ASSEMBLY, CUT-OUT LIMIT SWITCH: P# 45326A2". if anyone knows this switches function please let me know, and if it is a necessary component of the power trim could you point me in the direction of where to find one, because I can't seem to find one anywhere. Thanks!

It's a trim limit switch. Stops the engine from trimming up too far while under way. Not necessary, well I have it bypassed on mine, and everything works.
