"I replaced the powerpack on my 1972 100 HP Johnson because the motor would die without warning. I tested in my driveway and it seemed to be running great. The powerpack instructions suggested replacing the coil as well, so I put in a new coil this weekend. When I went to fire it up absolutely nothing happened! No click, nothing. Almost like the battery wasn't even connected, but the charge on the battery is good and all the other electical is fine (lamps, gauges, power tilt ,etc). Is there any way the coil could be hooked up in such a way to cause this? I put the old coil back as well and it didn't work either. All the black leads are going to ground, the blue to position #5. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated."
