"I have a 68 50horse mercury thunderbolt.just got the motor and have been getting it ready for water. wondering #1 what should be done after sitting 8 yrs? #2 what is the fuel to oil mix ratio for merc oil there is no chart on the container? #3what should the rpm be on this motor idle & topend #4 where should i set the air screws?
I have changed the impeller,the lower end gear oil,rebuilt the fuel pump,and completly disassembled and cleaned the carbs the airscrews where set at 1&1/4 turns on upper carb and 3/4 on lower carb seems to me they should be closer than 1/2 turn apart?? would be greatful for any imput"
