Trim Tilt ghosts

"Woke up yesterday morning to find my trim/tilt motor running with the motor all the way up and the motor still humming. The switch on the lower cowl did not work when i pressed the down button, so i lowered it via the shifter on the console.Checked it 20 minutes later and the dam thing is in the up position again , although this time the pt motor had stopped running once it was in the full up position. I pressed the down button on the lower cowl and this time it worked.Disconnected the battery so it wouldn't happen again. Now what would make the motor go up by itself??"

look at the relays, never grease up the relays
look for a blue and green wire to relays, usually on the backside of motor
unplug Ur trim switch from the motor cowling also to see if that is it. if not then i would say Ur throttle control switch"

"No relays , this motor has 2 solenoids. This happened during a heavy rainstorm and I did have the boat uncovered.Maybe some water got into the switch?"
