    4.3LX Start delay

    Why is it that my engine requires 12 seconds of cranking (coinciding with oil pressure) before firing and starting? It appears electric fuel pump is energized from starter solenoid with ignition switch.

    1993 Mercruiser 4.3LX Poor acceleration and low top end

    Despite inspecting, cleaning, gapping sparkplugs and cleaning carb (4bbl) and verifying float integrity (no leaks), acceleration is pathetic and engine is perhaps attaining 3000 rpm. Smooth running and OK at idle. Perplexed! Greg

    Electric fuel pump does not pump at start until oil pressure builds up. Connections? Switch? Relay? Wiring?
