    Chrysler 9.9 hp Reverse

    I have a Chrysler 9.9 hp outboard motor (model # 901 sn 1717) that will not lock in reverse. Is this the way the motor was made or is there a problem? The motor has not been in a couple of years and will not start. Any info as to model year, would be appreciated.
