    Need help with see if starter is the issue here

    Is this normal for a Mercruiser 3.7 L? Its in a 1982 Thompson Sea Sport. I hit the starter and don't stop until the starter freewheels. As soon as the engine kicks, the starter lets go of the flywheel. Just need to know if this is normal or do I need to reinstall / replace the starter...
