    1981 8 hp Mariner Idle and Wot Problems

    Hey I have a 1981 8 hp Mariner that i can't seem to get the idle adjustment screw set just right. Carb has been completely rebuilt and new fuel lines, But it just will not seem to idle and at wot it has some what of a miss. Help please and also what is the correct plug gap for this engine.

    Year and fuel ratio of a Mariner 8M

    Could someone please help me with the year of my Mariner 8 hp. The plate reads Mariner 8M 677 S 039012 All I know is that the S stands for short shaft. And also what is the proper fuel mix?
