    Is a 1997 Yamaha 8 HP any good?

    I just got screwed on an old Johnson 9.5 HP :( and am seriously thinking about buying a 1997 Yamaha 8 HP from a reputable dealer for my 14' flat-bottom jon boat. Can anyone please tell me if these motors are any good as I am still hurting from the last beating I took. thanks all! ron

    help with basic tune up

    I'm new to this and new to boats. i have a johnson 9.5 hp (mq-14e) that needs a tune up. i have ordered the coils, points and condensors from this site. i am hearing a lot about making sure the timing is not thrown off when i replace the points. anyone have any suggestions to help me from...
