    I am trying to check and grease or change the U joints whatever is necessary. It looks to me that I am going to have to pull the input shaft on the leg as it is imposable to get at the inner joint without damaging the rubber boot. am I right or is there a simple way that I can`t see.

    Overheat prevention

    Is there any heat censers out there that can be attached to exhaust manifolds to alert of a high temp situation. I often get kelp wrapped around the leg when trolling and one dosn`t know until it gets hot.

    4.3 exaust

    I am wondering if there is any specific reason for the cast coupler between the 2 rubber couplers between the exaust manifold and the leg and would it work just as well if it was just a longer rubber to connect up the exaust.

    Exaust Manifolds

    I have the 4.3 V6 with the one piece manifold with frost plugs in it. Are these different than automotive or not. I need to clean one of them out as there isn`t enough water flow through it any more and I bernt the rubber couplers on that side. :mad:

    I checked the oil in the botto I checked the oil in the bottom end where I found a little water. Are the seals all the same in the cobra legs or do I have to get the exact serial# to ger the right seal.
