    Thnx so much for your helpful responses. Much appreciated. Fuse good (starter motor works). Can order rectifier & coils (cheap!) so will try that but if needs cdi then toast since can’t locate bf30a Honda cdi anywhere Thnx again!

    Honda BF30A crossed polarity

    Battery cables (polarity) got mistakenly reversed. We realized that because starter motor was spinning backwards! We corrected the cables and starter motor works fine but there's no spark. We assume the rectifier is fried & have ordered a new one. But is it likely that CDI is fried as well?
