    Re: Honda BF60

You're aware there are 2 water temp sensors, yes?

Is it your impression that the motor is actually getting hot?

Does it going into "limp" mode where it's dropping rpm?

    Re: Honda BF50A idle issues

Set the green at 2.5-3.0 turns and forget them.

    Re: Honda BF50A idle issues

Blue is used to bring the 3 carbs into balance (synchronize) using the gauge. The bottom carb is what they call the "master" carb. You would use the blue screws to adjust the top and middle carbs to...

    Re: Honda BF50A idle issues

    Blue is for balance

The green are your idle fuel mixture. Set those to 2.5 - 3.0 turns from closed, all of them the same, and and you should be pretty close.

    Re: 2008 Honda BF90D

See previous warning regarding familiarity - there may not be one! The ones I'm familiar with have had them.

Too, if the one on the motor is functional, the one in the shifter might be considered...

    Re: 2008 Honda BF90D

What happens when you apply power to the black/wht wire? If the motor turns over, there's nothing wrong with the relay. If it doesn't turn over, there is.

Note the power to that wire goes though...

    Re: 2008 Honda BF90D

Follow the positive cable from the battery, and the big wire from the starter. They will lead you right to it.

2 much smaller wires come from it. One goes to ground the other, when given 12v,...

Re: 2003 Honda BF50a fuse blowing

That fuse should be powering everything. It's the only fuse on the motor. It powers relays used for the trim/tilt and starter motor.

What is weird is that the remote trim stops working but the...
  11. Re: 2014 Honda BF90D stalls when using trim at slow speed

    This is a little weird.

" I had to jump the battery to start the motor." That was pretty much expected by what you said before that.

What makes no sense at all is how that battery checked out...
  12. Re: Honda 90hp. Bogging at WOT.Coil or carbs?

I do a LOT of carbs on Honda 40-90 hp engines. I'm here to tell you that even with that much experience, it's not that unusual to have to go back through them a second time to find something I missed...

    Re: 2019 Honda Bf60

My bet would be no. I've never seen condensation in the amount to cause the oil to look/go milky.

Was the engine submerged? Why was it removed?

Re: Honda 40 hp fault codes

When they shut down and won't restart until cooled, that would hint at a water temp issue, no?

Have you been through that system? Do you have an infra red temp gauge available to check it's temp...

Wow, a 2fer! You should be good to go now....
  17. Re: 1998 BF50AW - Mounting Bolts Torque Specs?

I'll put 2 more pennies with the 2 pennies above. It's kind of a judgement call. "Snug" is how I would put it. Watch the material on the inside of the transom. If it start deforming/squishing, stop!
  18. Re: 2019 BF60 High Pressure Fuel Filter Leaking

That's the usual reason they don't seal. If it's been installed incorrectly and pinched, you'll need a new o-ring.
  19. Re: Outboard Mounting Bolts/Nuts - Stainless and Bronze?

    Another vote for stainless.
A trip to the hardware should be able to produce 1/2 stainless bolts (any length you need) and lock nuts.
