    I would say it is running on 1 cylinder.----Check for strong spark ( 1/4" or more gap ) om both leads.

    You need to install a seal kit.----Driveshaft seals, propshaft seals.-----Shift rod o-ring.----Bearing housing o-ring.----Cheaper than gears , bearings and shafts.-----Not a hard job to do.
