2008 Mercruiser 350 Mag Ser# 1A310737 Fuel Module

I am going to replace the fuel module with an aftermarket unit. Looks like all i need to do is reconnect the water hoses to the replacement pump with hose clamps and i'm good to go. However Ai tells me i am required to replace the water hoses and meter valve 3 bib. They can't tell me why?

is this a cool fuel III unit?

You could have a cool fuel Gen 2 or 3
Your talking about a hose so it might be Gen 2, but you need to tell us what you have

The leading cause of failure of the CF III is a buildup of sand in the CF unit causing hot fuel to the engine
from people who do not drain the system for winterizing correctly..
Remove the blue drain plug,remove the hoses , and rod the cavity with a solid control core or similar hardwire

You can make your own fuel cooler by using the large oil coolers found on inboards getting the fuel fitting that thread into the cooler
