My dad recently passed away and about 5 years before he died he bought a brand new jon boat with a new Yamaha 25hp fuel injected four stroke with electric start. He used the boat one time. The boat has been sitting up for years. Yesterday I took it out and put a new battery on it and tried to start it. It will not start. I'm no boat mechanic but I'm pretty sure its not getting gas. I sprayed some quick start in the air intake and it fired right up. I also bought new gas and made sure the gas was getting from the tank to the engine, it was. I don't want the boat, I just want to get it running so I can sell it.
Can anyone recommend some simple things I can try before I bring it to a mechanic? I thought maybe the fuel injector was clogged. Any ideas?
