Motor starts in idles fine but when I go to give it gas it stalls out
Sometimes it seems to catch and goes fine
This motor is carburetor
 
Did motor sit for a few years with fuel in carburetors?----Float bowls warped?-----Throttle plates opening at the correct time?----Water in the fuel?
 
I Have a 1995 115 60 degree V4. It still has the stock carbs and the VRO2 system. I found on my engine is to replace the fuel at or above 89 octane. Mine did the same thing for several years. I did replace the 2 coils a few years back but that wasn't the problem. I use pennsoil 2 stroke synthetic blend oil in the oil tank. I put a set of new plugs in it every year. If that's the only problem I have I'm not going to mixing gas and oil. Also if I didn't use my engine for a few weeks I would start it up the day before I went to the lake. Just make sure you put muffs on for water. I put new thermostats in last year. I never had any problems but they had many years on them. I replace the starter 4 years ago. I always push the gear override button in and give it a little throttle. Pump the bulb up tight and push the key in for about 4 seconds. Starts right up on the first time. I hope this helps. I have a water separator that I'm going to install after the fishing season is over. Clean the fuel filter out every year. I hope this helps. I ran 16 miles up the lake this morning. I have a 1995 Javelin bass boat 17ft long. Top speed with two people and gear is 54 mph GPS on my fish finder and checked with my iphone.
