Mercury Sugar Sand 90 HP (1995) Beeping noise

Hi,
I have a Mercury Sugar Sand 90 HP (1995) Mirage Jet Boat which I bought couple months ago.
Recently it started making a beeping noise under the console, I looked and it comes from a little cylindrical horn. It only beeps when I give the engine some throttle but as soon as I make it go under 8/mph the beeping goes away.
I have no idea what it is or where to start looking. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Check and see if you have an aftermarket depth finder.
Make sure it’s not set to some strange setting.

Mine did that after I accidentally changed the settings one day while in my garage.

Strangest thing, it would only do it on hard acceleration, as soon as I let off the throttle and slowed to a crawl, it would stop.

If you have a depth finder in your dash look underneath and see if you also have two beepers, one for the depth finder and one for the boat.

I set mine to 0, which is off.
Took it out today and that’s what it was.
Thing was puzzling me so bad.

So, why it wasn’t sounding unless I accelerated hard is beyond me.
Guy who owns a marine place in town tipped me off yesterday by saying, “I’ve seen depth finders do some crazy things”.

He was correct.
