Finding Model number for 1986 Johnson 20hp from know serial number

I purchased a new Johnson 20hp outboard from a shop in California in 1986. I sold the motor some years later, and the shop is long out of business. I now need to know whether that motor was a short or long shaft. If I had the model number I know that would tell me immediately (by the presence or absence of an "L" in the model number). Unfortunately, I don't have any record of the model number -- just the Serial Number, which is 6180272. Can anyone identify the model corresponding to Johnson serial number 6180272? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I'll dig through family archives and see -- there might be a picture somewhere. However, it's almost certainly going to be "above the waterline"; I doubt we have any "full side views" of the motor. But thanks; I'll see what I can find.
