Need opinions/advice/help from experienced MerCruiser guys. So reacently bought a pretty nice 1999 Bayliner 1850ss with a 4.3 Vortec. Engine starts easy cold, idles perfectly smooth at very steady 600–700 RPM, good oil pressure, no knocking/misfires, and no cracks anywhere on the block. Outdrive oil is also perfectly clean.
My only concern is the engine oil has a slight milky/hazy look to it. Before and after running the engine, the oil stayed looking the same and pretty clean. But after sitting untouched for about 4–5 days, it looks more this... milkier on the dipstick. Previous owner owned it for 13 years, and did all maintenance/winterization himself. He also told me that it didnt see much use in the past years and was mostly sitting. Could this realistically just be heavy condensation from sitting outside under a shelter uncovered for a long time near a humid lake environment. I also have the batwin manifold setup on my boat(single piece manifolds) Did anybody have this issue?? What could be the cause of this issue?? Thanks
